The FGCU men’s basketball team hoped to use their afternoon game to collect toys for Golisano Children’s Hospital. The Eagles also hoped to snap a 5-game losing streak, but the Eagles only accomplished one of those things.

FGCU shot 32.4 percent (23 for 71) overall, as the Colgate Raiders handed the Eagles a sixth straight loss, 74-56, in Alico Arena Sunday.

The Eagles effort was led by freshman guard Zach Scott, who scored 13 points off the bench for the first double figures of his career.

Next up: FGCU (2-8) heads to Oklahoma Wednesday, Dec. 5 to play Oral Roberts, a team that beat the Eagles 83-64 when the two programs first met last season.
