Three people were arrested in Cape Coral for possession of drugs and firearms.

Cape Coral police were called to a gas station Tuesday when witnesses saw a man passed out in his car. Officers found a Mitchell Sanchez, 33, asleep at the wheel with the engine running, police said.

Officers noted “obvious signs of impairment” while talking with Sanchez. Officers found a stun gun attached to his belt, and a Glock pistol in the car as well as a bag of methamphetamine, police said.

Early Wednesday morning around 1:57 a.m., Cape Coral police approached a suspicious vehicle in the Kohl’s parking lot at 513 SW Pine Island Road.

Two people were in the car and the man sitting in the driver’s seat, Harrison Rivera, 30, a convicted felon, reached for something in the driver’s door pocket. Officers quickly opened the door and found a small 9mm semiautomatic handgun. The officer also found a plastic bag that tested positive for methamphetamine, according to CCPD.

After searching the car, police also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

His passenger, Ashley Reddick, 32, was arrested for possession of heroin. Rivera was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and both were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sanchez was charged with a DUI, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a concealed firearm.
