The Cape Coral Police said they received a call for service at 2:40 a.m. Saturday regarding a vehicle burglary on the 100 block of SW 31st Street.

The caller said barking dogs woke him up and he went to check to see what was going on. When he did, he could see the dome light on inside his vehicle and three males running from his car.

Five vehicle burglaries were found and later reported in the area with several items being stolen to include a Glock 9mm handgun.

Cape Coral Police officers and a K9 unit responded. Two teens ran away while one stopped for police. The two that fled were found hiding behind a home and were arrested.

Three males age 14, 15, and 16, all from Cape Coral were arrested.

Police say a loaded Glock 9mm and a black glove was found in the immediate area where the three teens were walking.

Police also believe the teens are responsible for several burglaries in the area.

They were processed at the Cape Coral Police Department and later transferred to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
