Gas station clerk accused of working in unison with robbery suspect

A robbery at a North Fort Myers gas station lead to the arrest of a man and a women on Wednesday.

Cheyenne Williams, 24, and Keith Cooper, 22, have been arrested by Lee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies for robbery of a business without at weapon.

Williams, a clerk for Murphy’s Gas Station on Pine Island Road, said he was robbed by a male who demanded cigarette cartons, scratch off tickets and cash. After Deputies arrived at the scene, K9 track led them to Cooper, who had two stolen cartons of Newport cigarettes.

Major Crime Detectives took over the investigation soon afterward. They questioned Williams. He gave the detectives the impression that he was involved in the robbery, per the press release, leading him to be charged.
