A five-year-old boy was killed, family injured, after a truck ran a stop sign, hitting another car in Lehigh Acres Monday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP says the crash happened at the corner of Gunnery Road and Sunset Road in Lehigh Acres, where the teenager ran the stop sign and killed Connor Green, 5, when he slammed into the side of the family’s car.

Two other occupants of the car, Reagan Green, 2, Ashley Green, 33, have non-life threatening injuries, according to FHP.

The driver and three passengers in the truck that ran the stop sign also suffered minor injuries.

Troopers say charges are pending against the 17-year-old who ran the stop sign and alcohol is not considered to be a factor in the crash.

FHP says 5-year-old Connor was wearing a seatbelt/child restraint.
