North Fort Myers traffic stop leads to a narcotics bust

A traffic stop lead to a narcotics bust on Saturday.

Benny Barnes, 40, and Richard Renney, 53, were arrested when deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop at 4600 Bayline Dr. in North Fort Myers.

The press release was not clear on who was driving the vehicle, but that person was using a licence that had been suspended indefinitely.

When the deputies checked the vehicle, they discovered 25.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 7.6 grams of heroin, 3.2 grams of synthetic marijuana and 2.4 grams of marijuana.

Both Barnes and Renney were transported to Lee County Jail.
