Deputies in Fort Myers say they are looking for a man going around cutting up political signs and costing a business a lot of money.

Ross Winchel says he put up signs for the Majestic Palms neighborhood along McGregor Boulevard, and noticed they keep getting cut in half.

“Why are you doing this, what would make somebody get up at three in the morning get dressed and go cut signs up”?

Winchel says after losing more than $500 worth of supplies, he bought a hidden camera to catch the culprit.

“I put two signs out there strategically with the camera focused on both of them where he would have to walk right towards the camera ,” Winchel says.

In the video recording, you can see the man get out of his car in the middle of the night, and use a knife to slice them in half, then get back in his car and take off.

Resident, John Titor says this guy has been doing this same thing for a while.

“One of the first times i encountered him i might’ve yelled hey what are you doing cut it out,” Titor said.

Sheriff’s office says they are working to catch this guy, because what he is doing is vandalism.
