Ashley Britto was custody Monday afternoon for murder. Mug shot via Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. A woman suspected of murder was arrested following a dispute with a man she allegedly killed. Deputies from the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a man needing medical attention for a stab wound Sunday evening. When deputies arrived they found Ashley Britto, 33, holding the male victim close to her, according to CCSO. The victim was taken to the hospital where he later died with a single stab wound to the chest. However his official cause of death is pending a report from the medical examiner’s office. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Britto is currently being held at the Charlotte County Jail.
