A new monitoring system requires every visitor to show administrators their ID before they are let inside school grounds.
The district also each class room in Lee County with red locks, which allow every teacher to lock doors from the inside.
Now, for the first time ever, the district has an organized approach to prevention, with Threat Assessment teams, which identify those risks and take action.
