From Southwest Florida to Dallas, Texas.

“I want to hear him talk about illegal immigration,” Jason White said, who lives in Dallas.

White is among the thousands who waited in line to hear President Donald Trump speak at the MAGA rally in Estero at Hertz Arena.

“Crowds like this, you’re going to get some troublemakers unfortunately,” White said. “But the good thing is that they do have a strong presence here and hopefully that will deter people who have no business being here.”

Deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort Myers Police Department are working with Secret Service personal to make sure the event runs smoothly.

“Keeping everybody safe,” Terri Pietroburgo said, from Lake County, “that’s the beauty of America.”

Like Pietroburgo, who said she was keeping an eye out for suspicious activity herself.

“There were a couple people that made me a little nervous,” Pietroburgo said. “I was watching the deputies that we’re watching them, so they knew what was going on.”

Details on the security preparations are being kept secret by law enforcement officials.

But still, its presence is enough to keep people’s minds at ease.

“I can definitely appreciate that,” Jason White said. “I thank all the law enforcement out here.”
