A probationary search led to the arrest of a 23-year-old man accused of possessing drugs and a fire arm, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

A search took place Monday at the residence of Stacey Wright on the 27000 block of Sunnybrook Road, deputies said. Wright was accused of fleeing from the residence after a probation officer announced he had found a gun.

After Wright was detained, deputies found two bags containing 842.5 grams of marijuana in a backpack, an additional bag containing 22 grams of marijuana was located in a nightstand, and two magazines containing ammunition, deputies said.

Wright faces charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, violation of probation and possession of drug paraphernalia, deputies said.
