Photo via North Port Police Department A 19-year-old man was killed in a shooting early Wednesday morning on Porto Chico Avenue, the North Port Police Department said. Trent Bartol-Thomas, of Sarasota, died after police responded around 1:30 a.m. to the 8100 block of Porto Chico Avenue in reference to a shooting. Around 10 people were inside the home and two masked men came inside and a fight ensued, according to witness testimony obtained by police. Following the shooting, the suspects left the home in a silver minivan, police said.
