2 pedestrians in critical condition after Arcadia hit-and-run

Two people were critically hurt Sunday night after a hit-and-run near Jefferson Street, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The pedestrians were walking around 9 p.m. on the shoulder of Southeast First Avenue when a vehicle –believed to be a white sedan– failed to see them and struck both people, according to the FHP. The vehicle then fled the scene southbound on Southeast First Avenue following the collision.
