Victim and suspect identified in Fort Myers homicide

FORT MYERS, Fla. Fort Myers police and the daughter of the 39-year-old victim identified Chantill Harrison as the woman in Tuesday morning’s killing near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Harrison leaves behind two sons and a daughter, according to the victim’s family.

Fort Myers police arrested Freddie Harris, 50, on charges of second-degree murder of Harrison.

Harris is also charged with two counts of assault on an officer and one count of aggravated child abuse.

Harris was arrested following a standoff, according to police. Harrison and the suspect had a child together.

The killing happened early Tuesday morning near the intersection of Towles Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to police. Multiple roads remain blocked off.

The circumstances leading up to the killing were unclear.
