SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. A pedestrian hit and killed by an SUV on Interstate 75 has been identified.

The collision happened around 8 p.m. October 26, on I-75 northbound near Exit 131, FHP said.

The pedestrian, David Youngblood, 56, or Fort Myers, was trying to cross the northbound lanes and was struck by an SUV according to the FHP. It’s unclear why Youngblood was walking on the interstate.

It was the fourth time that week a pedestrian was hit and killed on Lee County roads. A 29-year-old Fort Myers woman was killed in a Lehigh Acres hit-and-run over. The other two collisions took place in North Fort Myers, on U.S. 41 and another on Business 41.

The incident remains under investigation.
