The crews in Pinellas County participated in the “Thriller Challenge” with hopes of raising awareness and funds for two organizations. The Cured Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for children with Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Diseases, according to the organization’s Facebook page. The disease presents concerns for children trick-or-treating due to the problems with candy. The Teal Pumpkin Project helps provide resources for children with food-related allergies alternative trick-or-treating methods, according to the organization’s website. Police and fire crews ended the video by challenging select law enforcement and fire agencies across the nation to participate in the challenge.
