CAPE CORAL, Fla. A crash that took place after a driver fled a police traffic stop Friday morning knocked out power to a residential street.

The driver and his passenger are in custody after crashing the sedan on the 3200 block of Southeast 15th Place, Cape Coral Police Officer James Lear said. Power was out to homes on the street for 40 minutes but has since been restored.

K-9 units and a helicopter helped police track the men down when they ran from the car after the crash.
