1 wounded in Lehigh Acres shooting

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. One person was wounded in a shooting Wednesday night, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said.

The shooting took place shortly before 8:05 p.m. on the 700 block of Gordon Avenue South, between the Westminster Golf Club and Gunnery Road, according to the sheriff’s office.

The victim was taken to a hospital, the sheriff’s office said. His condition is unclear.

Further details weren’t immediately available.

It’s the third time this month someone has been injured in a Lee County shooting. A teen was shot and wounded while walking Oct. 3 in Cape Coral. Another person was shot in the leg in an accidental shooting Oct. 11 in Lehigh Acres.
