PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – The City of Punta Gorda is seeking to fill the open position of police chief and they’ve narrowed the finalists down to 8. The below-listed candidates will be interviewed next month. The list was originally narrowed to 10 but two candidates, Jeffrey Hadley, public safety chief in Kalamazoo Michigan, and David Sklarek, former chief deputy for the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office near Orlando, withdrew from consideration.
