FORT MYERS, Fla. Strong breezes are in the forecast for Friday and the weekend, WINK meteorologist Matt Devitt said.

“This pattern will bring in a few pockets of rain and also the wind,” Devitt said. “It’s going to be a breezy Saturday, gusting 15-25 mph.”

Winds will be between 15 and 20 mph Friday, with a mix of sun and clouds and a few showers. The high will be 88.

The showers will start east of Interstate 75 and move west toward midday, Devitt said.

Highs will remain in the upper 80s this weekend, but significantly cooler weather is on the way next week, according to Devitt. A cold front will drop highs into the 70s by Wednesday, with a low of 60 Wednesday night.

And that night could be even cooler.

“I’ve got models showing 50s, but I kind of want to watch it before I drop us into the 50s,” Devitt said.
