NORTH PORT, Fla. A fourth major league baseball team will soon train in Southwest Florida.
A ceremonial groundbreaking was held Monday on a North Port spring training complex for the Atlanta Braves. Construction is expected to wrap up in time for 2019 spring games.
The Braves currently train at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando. The new complex will be owned by Sarasota County, and it will cost taxpayers $4.7 million to help build the facility.
