FORT MYERS, Fla. A 24-year-old man led authorities on a high-speed chase Thursday afternoon from East Naples to Lee County, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

Jermaine Alfonso Bailey was arrested after a Lee County Sheriff’s Office k-9 tracked him down near Meadow Road and Haviland Avenue South in Lehigh Acres, deputies said.

Two helicopters and scores of deputies were involved with the search.

A domestic encounter sparked the chase at around 2 p.m. in the area of Freedom Square shopping plaza, deputies said.

Bailey threw the victim to the ground during the dispute, deputies said. After they both got into two separate vehicles, Bailey rammed the woman’s car and drove off.

Bailey faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, high speed fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest and battery, deputies said.
