Video, social media lead to arrest in Cape Coral cooler theft

CAPE CORAL, Fla. Surveillance video and Facebook led to an arrest in the theft of two coolers valued at $300 each.

Police identified Joshua David Cunningham, 26, of 1827 NW 3rd Place, as the suspect after Family Hardware posted the video to its Facebook page. Cunningham is accused of grabbing the Yeti coolers Monday and running out the back of the store on 622 SE 47th Terrace.

Cunningham was arrested Tuesday morning on suspicion of trespassing and failure to appear in an unrelated case, hours before police tied him to the theft, police said.

He remains in the Lee County Jail on a combined $60,000 bond facing a pair of grand theft charges.
