‘Sea sparkle’ lighting up Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel not harmful

FORT MYERS, Fla. A rare algae, dubbed as sea sparkle, causing the water along Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel to glow at night is not harmful to beachgoers, according to local researcher Rick Bartleson.
