ORLANDO (WKMG) A survivor of the Las Vegas shooting has returned home after spending the last few days in the hospital.

Addison Short, 18, was rushed to Sunrise Hospital after Sunday night’s shooting. She was desperately trying to escape the gunfire at the Route 91 Harvest Festival when a bullet hit her in the leg.

When she got home, she tried out her crutches. Emotions flowed as she spoke about living through the worst mass shooting in modern American history.

She said she felt her dad, who died when she was a little girl, was watching over her. Addison has a tattoo on her arm to remember him.

“He said I was his angel and now he is mine,” she said.

Her mom, Stacy, says the tragedy has brought the family closer than ever.

“I think I’m happier today than even the day I brought her home from the hospital,” her mother said.
