Bonita Springs woman arrested in deadly hit-and-run

FORT MYERS, Fla. A 25-year-old woman was arrested Thursday in connection with an Aug. 15 deadly hit-and-run crash, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s office.

Natasha McGowan, of Bonita Springs, is charged with failing to stop and remain at a crash involving a death, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

McGowan is facing charges for hitting and killing Ryan J. Kinsey, 28, of El Paso, Texas, after he fell from his bike in the right lane of U.S. 41 near Cedar Creek Drive.

She’s in custody and no bond has been set, according to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

Deputies were searching for a tan or gray Ford Taurus that drove in an unknown direction following the crash.

McGowan’s trial is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 6.
