Backups clear after multiple crashes on I-75 in Lee County

FORT MYERS, Fla. Multiple crashes caused delays four miles long Wednesday morning on Interstate 75, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The roadblocks cleared by late morning. One crash happened around 6:43 a.m. at mile marker 131 in Fort Myers on Interstate 75 northbound, according to the FHP. There was a roadblock in the center lane.

Another crash happened around 7:02 a.m. at mile marker 123 near Corkscrew Road on Interstate 75 southbound, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

An initial crash happened around 6:10 a.m. at mile marker 120 in Estero on Interstate 75 southbound, but it didn’t cause a roadblock, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The circumstances leading up to the crashes, vehicles involved or injuries were unclear.
