Lee County School board approves post-Irma schedule

FORT MYERS, Fla. Lee County students missed two weeks of school due to Hurricane Irma, and the changes for the remainder of the school year were allocated Tuesday.

The Lee County School Board made the following changes to the 2017-2018 school year calendar:

• Oct.16 becomes a regular school day
• Dec. 19 to 21 become regular school days
• Dec. 22 becomes an early dismissal day
• Jan. 8 becomes a regular school day as a hurricane makeup day
• March 16 becomes a regular school day
• April 2 is Easter Monday and becomes a regular school day
