Teen arrested for fatal shooting at Fort Myers Travelodge motel

FORT MYERS, Fla. A 17-year-old boy was arrested Saturday in connection with a fatal shooting, according to the Fort Myers Police Department.

Trayviouse Jermain Taylor, of Fort Myers, was accused of fatally shooting Sidney Theodora, 20, of Fort Myers Friday morning at the Travelodge Motel on 4760 S. Cleveland Ave., police said.

Taylor turned himself into investigators earlier today, police said. He faces charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a firearm.

“Once again, FMPD, along with our partners at FDLE, ATF and the State Attorney’s Office, have come together to identify and apprehended a violent felon and remove him off our streets in less than 24 hours,” Fort Myers Police Department captain Jay Rodriguez said.  “The pressure placed on Mr.Taylor left him no options to hide. Mr. Taylor was left with no choice but to turn himself in.”
