Punta Gorda man arrested in connection with May robbery

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. A 41-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection with a May convenience store robbery, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

Richard Emil Dickman, of Punta Gorda, was accused of demanding money from a clerk at the Circle K on 3035 Tamiami Trail, deputies said. He allegedly told the clerk to hide in the restroom for five minutes.

Dickman faces two charges of fist-degree larceny, robbery with no firearm or weapon and false imprisonment of a person against their will.

A bond has not yet been set.
