One person was shot and killed Friday at a motel, Fort Myers police said. The shooting took place at the Travelodge on 4760 S. Cleveland Ave., according to police. Officers have cordoned off the area to search for suspects using a K-9 team. A person of interest in custody, police Lt. Jay Rodriguez said. Police have identified witnesses. The Howard Johnson Inn across the street on 4811 S. Cleveland Ave. is connected to the case, Rodriguez said. No threat to the public appears to exist, police said.
