Nations Association Charities take donations for victims in Puerto Rico
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Nations Association Charities of Fort Myers is stepping up to provide relief to hurricane victims in Puerto Rico.
Founder and CEO Israel Suarez, said the Fort Myers housing authority will donate $10K to the Puerto Rico Relief Acct. and the housing authority is now challenging the community to raise $50K.
Suarez says the donations will not go to another charity. He said he is personally flying to Puerto Rico in the coming weeks to deliver money door to door, handing it out to families in need.
Hispanic or not, Christian or not, Suarez said, they need donations and they’ll give your money to anyone in Puerto Rico regardless of background.
Many leaders at the press conference have family in Puerto Rico and talked about how tough their situations are, what it’s like down there, and how hard communication is right now.
Money only is being collected for Puerto Rico at this time. Also, the Nations Association is collecting supplies for victims in Mexico after recent earthquakes, such as clothing, food, hygiene products.
