SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. A man was arrested after Lee County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about a kidnapping at a Walmart.

George Anthony Delorme, 46, of Fountain, Colorado, was taken into custody Thursday after Lee County Sheriff’s deputies pulled him over at the intersection of American Colony and Daniels Parkway.

The woman, who was Delorme’s passenger, told deputies she was being held against her will and in fear of leaving him due to threats he made in the past, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies began searching for Delorme’s vehicle after receiving word of a kidnapping at Walmart on 14821 Six Mile Cypress Parkway, the sheriff’s office said.

Several deputy cruisers were seen along Daniels Parkway at rush hour as Delorme was arrested. The scene caused a traffic backup.

Delorme remained in custody on $50,000 bond Friday morning.
