Outages dwindle, but power still off to 34,760 in SWFL

FORT MYERS, Fla. Power has been restored in several parts of Southwest Florida, the Lee County Electric Cooperative said Wednesday morning.

Still, 12,900 LCEC and 21,860 Florida Power and Light customers remain in the dark.

Most of those LCEC customers are in Immokalee, Lehigh Acres and the southern part of the region, the utility said. Power was restored to most, if not all, LCEC customers in North Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Pine Island, Sanibel, Captiva and Marco Island overnight.

Collier County is still the area in Southwest Florida with the greatest number of FPL outages, with service out to 11 percent of customers there.

Customers voiced their concerns to FPL representatives Wednesday at Bonita Springs City Hall on 9101 Bonita Beach Road:
