Lee County resumes scheduled trash, recycling pickups after Irma

Published:

FORT MYERS, Fla. Trash and recycling pickups will resume for Lee County residents Sunday, county officials said.

The pickups will take place on regularly scheduled days, according to county officials.

Garbage and recyclables should be in tightly sealed bags and lids, with each can weighing no more than 50 pounds, county officials said. Residents should also have cans or bags at the curb ready for pickup.

Residents should make sure to keep garbage and recyclables away from storm debris, mail boxes and any utility equipment, according to county officials. Such equipment includes power poles, power lines, electric meters, and fire hydrants.

Lee County suspended trash and recycling services ahead of Hurricane Irma.
