PUNTA GORDA, Fla. A precautionary boil water notice was lifted Sunday for the Burnt Store area, Charlotte County Utilities said.

The precautionary boil notice was put into effect Friday for customers in the Burnt Store area due to reduced pressure after the water was shut off, according to Charlotte County Utilities. Customers in the affected area were advised to boil their water used for drinking or cooking at a rolling boil for at least 60 seconds.

The water was tested and is now safe for human consumption, Charlotte County Utilities said.

No further information was immediately available.
