Tropical Storm Lee forms in the eastern Atlantic

FORT MYERS, Fla. Tropical Storm Lee formed in the eastern Atlantic Saturday, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Tropical Storm Lee had sustained winds of 40 mph as of the 11 p.m. advisory, the hurricane center said. The storm was about 760 miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands moving west at 8 mph.

There are no watches or warnings in effect, the hurricane center said. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours, though weakening is expected by Wednesday.

It is too soon to tell if Tropical Storm Lee would effect Southwest Florida.
