Marco Island man arrested in connection with shooting

MARCO ISLAND, Fla. A 55-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a shooting, according to the Marco Island Police Department.

The shooting happened at around 11:30 p.m. at a condominium in the area of the San Marco Villas, police said.

The exact location of the shooting remains unclear.

Keith M. Creedon, of Marco Island, was accused of firing five gun shots outside the  condominium, police said. Creedon barricaded himself inside the residence when police arrived.

Police officers, negotiators and SWAT attempted to make contact with Creedon, but he refused to exit, police said. Creedon surrendered after tear gas was administered inside the residence.

Creedon faces charges of discharging a firearm in public and two counts of aggravated assault, police said.
