Hurricane Jose maintains Category 1 status, winds

FORT MYERS, Fla. Hurricane Jose maintained its status as a Category 1 storm Wednesday morning, the National Hurricane Center said.

Hurricane Jose has maximum sustained winds at 75 mph and is moving southeast at 7 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center, according to the National Hurricane Center. The storm is about 510 miles east-northeast of the Southeastern Bahamas and about 470 miles south of Bermuda.

No coastal watches or warnings are in effect, the National Hurricane Center said.

The storm is not expected to impact Southwest Florida.
