Photo via MGN NAPLES, Fla. Residents are encouraged to use caution when hiring contractors to repair damage on their homes following Hurricane Irma, Collier County officials said. Before hiring a contractor, residents should contact Collier County Contractor Licensing at 239-252-2431 to verify the company’s credentials, county officials said. Emergency repair work including enclosing doors, windows and roofs does not require a permit at this time, county officials said. All other repair work does require a permit. Unlicensed workers who perform services during a state of emergency are committing a third-degree felony, county officials said. Emergency permitting will be available at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the following locations: Naples Permitting Office on 2800 N.
