Category 1 Hurricane Jose moves eastward, maintains winds

FORT MYERS, Fla. Hurricane Jose main weakened into a Category 1 storm Tuesday morning as it turned eastward, the National Hurricane Center said.

Hurricane Jose had maximum sustained winds at 75 mph and is moving east at 5 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center. The system is about 450 miles north-northeast of Grand Turk Island, and about 645 miles north-northwest of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

No coastal watches or warnings are in effect.

Hurricane Jose is not expected to impact Southwest Florida.
