BUCKINGHAM, Fla. A former mosquito control aircraft wound up hurtling into a car as Hurricane Irma passed, Lee County Mosquito Control said.

The plane wasn’t being flown and was simply pushed by the storm into the car parked next to a house nearby the Buckingham Field airport, Lee County Mosquito Control spokeswoman Shelly Redovan said.

No one was hurt.

Mosquito Control had given the plane to a museum, Redovan said. Planes currently belonging to Mosquito Control sustained only minor damage and the agency hopes to resume operations by Wednesday.
