Crews will be working Wednesday night to spray a portion of Collier County following a large mosquito outbreak, the Collier Mosquito Control District said. The areas shaded in green will be sprayed Wednesday night. “We had a lot of rainfall last week to do with the tropical storm and now all the mosquitoes are coming out at once, so were suddenly getting busy again,” Chief Pilot Chris Laidlaw-Bell said. At least 100 complaints were made in the last two days, the control district said. The treatment will happen at around 10:30 p.m. over western Golden Gate Estates, Golden Gate City, Immokalee and Ave Maria.
