Kid overcomes fear to take dive off board at Collier pool

NORTH NAPLES, Fla. Jacobi Weinberg took part in a typical summer ritual, but it took courage for him to do so.

Jacobi climbed the ladder to the top of the 18-foot diving board at the Sun N Fun Lagoon at 15000 Livingston Road, but fear stopped in his tracks.

“Well sometimes when you’re like standing on the board for too long, you, your mind just freaks out like you’re feeling a lot of adrenaline,” Jacobi said.

With cheers from a growing crowd rallying around Jacobi, he mustered the courage to take a leap of faith.

When asked what it felt like to be in the air, he responded, “I believe I can fly.”
