Red Flag warning issued for DeSoto County, parts of SWFL

ARCADIA, Fla. A Red Flag warning has been issued Wednesday morning for DeSoto County due to a fire risk, the National Weather Service said.

Red Flag warnings are issued for areas experiencing anticipated low relative humidity and high energy release components, according to the NWC.

In addition, a fire weather watch warning is in effect for inland parts of Southwest Florida until 8 p.m. Red flag warning were also issued for parts of Southwest Florida.

A Red Flag was issued from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. for Inland Charlotte, Inland Lee and Highlands counties, the fire report said.

A Red Flag warning was issued from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. for Glades, Hendry and Inland Collier counties, according to the report.

Increasing temperatures and dry air produce less humid conditions, according to the National Weather Service.

County residents should avoid any outdoor burning as fires are likely to spread quickly, NWC officials said.
