Portion of Daniels Parkway reopens following morning crashes

SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. The inside westbound lane and eastbound lanes of Daniels Parkway have ropened following two Monday morning crashes, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The wreck happened just before 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Daniels Parkway and Gateway Boulevard, according to the FHP. This crash involved injuries, but the extent is unclear.

In addition, a secondary wreck happened at around 5:37 a.m. and closed the inside westbound lane of Daniels Parkway, according to State troopers.

Motorists were encouraged to avoid the intersection and find alternate routes, State troopers said.

The circumstances leading up to the crash were unclear.
