FORT MYERS, Fla. Computers, smartphones and other devices are contributing to eyesight problems among more preschoolers, according to a study by the American Medical Association. The problem, according to experts, is that children aren’t spending enough time outside. “By getting children to go outside and playing and relaxing their focus, it will benefit them because they’ll be less dependent, they’ll adapt less to near-point influences like video games and computers,” said Dr. Sandler Burkley, an optometrist.
