FORT MYERS, Fla. More than 1,000 Southwest Florida residents of all faiths came together Thursday morning to observe the National Day of Prayer at the Community Prayer Breakfast. The city has been celebrating the nationwide holiday since 1988, according to a release. The event featured food, music and motivational speakers. The event began at 6 a.m. at the Harborside Event Center on 1375 Monroe St.
