NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. The Florida Everblades’ season came to an end Thursday night with a 2-1 loss to the South Carolina Stingrays at the North Charleston Coliseum.

The game was scoreless until the Stingrays scored first on a goal by Andrew Cherniwchan at 13:56 of the first. A shot from Dominic Monardo was blocked by Alex Nedeljkovic, causing the rebound to bounce to the short side of the net. Cherniwchan then flipped the loose puck into the net for the goal.

Less than a minute later, Olivier Archambault extended the Stingrays’ lead 2-0 advantage.

Neither team scored during the second period, with both goaltenders fighting to keep the game at 2-0.

Florida managed to score its first goal of the game at 4:33 of the third, when Matt Berry passed to John McCarron at the top of the crease. McCarron then angled the puck high into the net, making it a 2-1 game.

The Blades continued to press for the equalizer for the remainder of the period, but to no avail.

The Stingrays won the best-of-seven series 4-1.
