MARCO ISLAND, Fla. A precautionary boil water notice for the island has been lifted, the Marco Island Police Department said.

The city imposed a ban Monday after a power outage that police believe stemmed from a construction barge that came in contact with Lee County Electric Cooperative power lines.

Duane Thomas Marine Construction employee William R. Rans, 27, of Naples, was cited for failure to maintain a proper lookout and no boater education card, police said.
